Quality vs. Quantity

Life is hard. On this earth, every person will have their own set of challenges. No two are alike. I suppose a challenge for one person is not even an issue for someone else. And vice versa. I would also dare to say that some are blessed to have very little obstacles to overcome, while others may be constantly fighting an uphill battle. Life isn’t fair. Regardless, part of this human life is discovering and addressing these challenges.

Treating cancer is one of those obstacles that may not always have a clear resolution. Each treatment that promises to save your life also has so many side effects that you wonder if it’s worth it. In this 2nd round of cancer, my treatment plan has changed a half dozen times in 4 months. Now, when even more medicinal options are presented, my mind starts to wonder. Do I really want to go through this agonizing treatment plan to add an unknown time to my lifespan? Or would I rather enjoy what I have right here right now and worry about cancer reoccurrence later? ‘You don’t know what you got til it’s gone.’ I vote for skipping the torture method(s) and living whatever life I have to the fullest. It could be a day, it could be 4 years, it could be 32 years, who knows? Here’s to enjoying life!
